Intent-Based Marketing

Act on buying research before the shortlist closes.

Most B2B programmes begin once the criteria are written and the vendor list is closed. We read the intent signals the market leaves behind — research data from providers we license, ZoomInfo among them, contact records from Apollo.io and LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and the engagement your own site already records — then rank the accounts worth a rep's time and put a relevant message in front of them while the decision is still open.

Reading demand instead of guessing

A company list is not a demand view. Signals are.

A static list says only that a company exists. Intent data says the same company pulled a comparison guide on Tuesday, came back to your pricing page twice on Thursday, and put two security stakeholders on an implementation article. Those are different conversations, and they need different replies.

We place contracted third-party research signals over your own first-party engagement and resolve both into one account view, so a spike this week and a form fill from last month are read as a single buying committee rather than two unrelated leads. The blend runs inside IntentInsight.ai, our own buyer-intent platform, so the resolution logic sits with us instead of in a report you reconcile by hand.

What reaches your sales team is a ranked queue with the context attached: which accounts are active, how far along they are, and what they have already read. An analyst reviews every account before it is handed over, checking role, company fit and buying relevance, so a rep opens with something specific rather than a re-introduction.

Signal sources

What the signal is built from

A score is only as good as the evidence underneath it. Six inputs feed every account score we hand over, and each one traces back to a source you can check yourself.

Contracted third-party feeds

We license research signals from providers we contract with, ZoomInfo among them, so we can see where buying committees are reading across your category. Spike detection runs each day, so a jump in a topic reaches you as an account-level alert rather than a month-end report.

Engagement you generate yourself

Your site, your content, your webinars and your email clicks are intent you already own, and most teams leave them in separate tools. We instrument each touchpoint, join sessions across devices and pull anonymous activity back to a known account wherever the trail allows.

Resolving one account from many records

Signals rarely arrive in a usable state. We match domains, contact records and device graphs to a single account ID, collapse duplicate roles and keep the history attached, so intent does not reset because somebody changed job title, device or email address has changed. Apollo.io and LinkedIn Sales Navigator supply much of the raw contact detail that resolution then has to untangle.

Filtering on what the company is

Interest outside your ICP costs you time rather than creating it. Industry, headcount, revenue band, region and installed technology are applied as hard filters before scoring begins, which keeps students, agencies, resellers and out-of-region traffic out of your reps' queue.

The scoring model

Each account earns a score built from topic relevance, recency, frequency, breadth across the buying committee and fit against your ICP. We review the weighting with your sales leaders each quarter and tune it against what actually closed rather than what looked promising.

Reading around competitors

We track reading around named competitors and adjacent categories, so you know when a prospect has started comparing options. That is the point at which your differentiation, migration path or pricing story is worth putting in front of them.

How it runs

From raw signal to a ranked account, in four steps.

No six-month data project is required. We start from the signals you already generate and add feeds as they earn their place.

Gather the raw signals

Third-party intent data and your own first-party engagement feed the model from week one, with no new marketing stack needed to begin. Where an account still needs a name and a work email, Apollo.io and LinkedIn Sales Navigator do the prospecting.

Resolve identity

Records are matched to one account ID, enriched with firmographics and technographics, then filtered hard against the ideal customer profile agreed with you.

Score intent

Every account is ranked on relevance, recency, frequency and committee breadth, with the exact topics it researched attached to the score it carries.

Reach them while it is live

Ranked accounts reach your reps and campaigns on a typical signal-to-outreach window of about two days, with the trigger, the topics and a suggested opening angle included in the handover. Before delivery an analyst confirms the role, the company fit and the email validity, so a live signal never arrives as a cold record.

What reporting looks like

The weekly view, and what sits inside it.

We report the queue rather than a headline performance figure. Everything below is a number your sales team can reconcile against its own pipeline, which is why we do not publish rate or volume statistics that nothing outside our own reporting could explain.

The accounts in the queue

The named accounts showing research activity in your category right now, with the readiness band each one sits in.

  • Account, buying committee and topic being researched
  • Date of the first signal and of the latest one
  • Accounts already in your pipeline, flagged and excluded

What leaves our hands

Every account leaves our process through the same six checks, so what arrives is consistent whichever channel found it. An analyst works through them one record at a time.

  • Company fits the ICP agreed with you
  • Role and level of seniority confirmed
  • The work email validated with NeverBounce
  • Recency of the signal confirmed
  • Accounts you already have, excluded
  • A context note attached

How channels are judged

Channels are compared on what your team does next rather than on a headline rate: which accounts were accepted, which were worked, and which turned into a real conversation.

  • Records accepted against the criteria you set
  • Records actually worked by your reps
  • Conversations your team reported back to us
  • The weighting reviewed with your sales leaders
What lands in your inbox

What each handover contains

Every handover answers the four questions a rep asks before picking up the phone.

Which accounts are active

A ranked weekly view of the accounts showing buying intent in your category, scored against your ICP and refreshed as the signals change.

  • Named accounts with live research signals
  • Buying committee mapped by role and level
  • Current customers and live opportunities, excluded

What they were reading

Intent only becomes usable when you know what caused it. Every account arrives with the subjects, assets and comparisons that lifted its score.

  • A topic-by-topic breakdown of the signals
  • The assets they read, downloaded or watched
  • Flags for competitor and category research

Where they are in the journey

A readiness band tells you whether to open a conversation or keep educating, so early-stage research is not pushed towards a demo it cannot support yet.

  • Readiness band, from researching to evaluating
  • Time since the first and the most recent signal
  • The next action we recommend for each account

How to open the conversation

Each account comes with a suggested angle drawn from what it actually read, written to sound like someone who did their homework rather than a merge field.

  • A suggested opening line and follow-up sequence
  • A proof point tied to the topic researched
  • Handover notes your reps can act on that day

Questions

The intent questions buyers ask us most

On its own, not much — and a provider claiming otherwise is selling noise. We treat third-party intent as directional and ask for corroboration before an account reaches your team: a second independent research signal, a match against your ideal customer profile, or first-party engagement from the same account.

We operate inside the data-sharing terms of each provider, and use business contact data for B2B purposes only. Personal data is processed under legitimate-interest or consent frameworks depending on the region, opt-outs and deletion requests are honoured inside the delivery workflow, and our quality and service management practices are aligned to ISO 9001 and ISO 20000. GDPR, CCPA and CASL requests all route through one documented path.

Third-party feeds refresh each day, and first-party activity is captured in near real time. In practice a new spike reaches your queue within a day, and the full loop — signal detected, identity resolved, account scored, outreach sent — runs in about two days. Read that as a working window, not a guaranteed SLA.

No. The ranked account view can be delivered as a scheduled export or a shared dashboard while you decide. If you already run Salesforce, HubSpot or another CRM, scores, topics and triggers can be delivered into your records, so your existing routing, assignment and automation rules keep working as they do today. Either way an analyst reviews each record before it leaves us.

A list gives you names with no evidence of interest, and it starts ageing the moment it is downloaded. Intent-based marketing gives you accounts with documented activity, ranked by readiness and paired with the context needed to open a relevant conversation, and it is maintained while the buying window is open rather than sold once and then forgotten.
